The Garden Children's Ministry
Programs for Children at Faith Community Church
The mission of The Garden Children's Ministry is to:
- Provide biblical teaching and truths that leads a child into a personal and lasting relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
- Supplement the family as they lay down a spiritual foundation and nurture spiritual growth.
- Build relationship with children, within and outside of the church, so that children may come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
We believe that programs for children should be:
- Biblically based (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- Child-targeted (1 Corinthians 9:22)
- Application-oriented (Psalm 119:11)
- Relational (Luke 6:12-13, Acts 2:44-47)
- Safe (Psalm 27:5)
- Fun (Psalm 100:1)

Sunday Morning Programs
During the 9:30 and 11:00 service.
LIGHT 56: 5th & 6th Grade
Kids in the 5th and 6th Grade are provided with a separate program. Kids start with an arrival activity allowing them to develop friendships and talk about their week. Arrival time is followed by a music, game and lesson time. Following the lesson, LIGHT 56 kids meet to discuss and apply biblical truths.

The Garden: 4K -4th Grade
As children enter the program they go to their age appropriate Gardening Group for an arrival activity. After the arrival activity, children particpate in a music, game and lesson time. The lesson is presented in a creative way allowing children with various learning styles to engage in the lesson. After the lesson, children go back to their age appropriate Gardening Groups. In Gardening Group, Gardeners (teachers) meet with the children to help them feel welcome, cared for, and known. During Gardening Group children learn how to apply biblical truths from the lesson and learn the verse of the month. |
Preschool: 2 years - 5 years
We recognize and value that God has created preschoolers with a strong desire to learn but a short attention span. Each lesson component is short and includes much creativity, movement and interaction! As children enter the preschool program, their parents will guide them to an arrival activity. Following the arrival activity, children will be provided with a lesson, application, verse and prayer time. Then chidlren will move onto a game time, music time and exit activity. Each month children will complete a special craft. Children learn one nugget each Sunday and one verse each month. |
Nursery: Birth - 24 months
We recognize and value that God has created infants and toddlers with a need to be loved and cared for. The Nursery offers quality care to infants and toddlers under the age of two. |
Wednesday Night Programs
6:30pm-8pm Wednesdays
During the same time as our community groups, children ages two through sixth grade are provided with a program of their own. Wednesday night is more of a club approach with two through five year olds involved in the Tadpoles group, 4K through Fourth Graders involved in F.R.O.G. Club, and Fifth and Sxith Graders involved in LIGHT 56. Tadpoles review the lesson from Sunday. Children in F.R.O.G. Club and kids in LIGHT 56 dig deeper into God's Word, learn verses, books of the Bibles, build friendships and complete service projects.
