Childrens Programs
at Faith Community Church
The Garden Children's Ministry is dedicated to:
- Providing biblical teaching and truths that leads a child into a personal and lasting relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
- Supplementing the family as they lay down a spiritual foundation and nurture spiritual growth.
- Building relationship with children, within and outside of the church, that the children may come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
We believe that programs for children should be:
- Biblically based (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- Child-targeted (1 Corinthians 9:22)
- Application-oriented (Psalm 119:11)
- Relational (Luke 6:12-13, Acts 2:44-47)
- Safe (Psalm 27:5)
- Fun (Psalm 100:1)

Sunday Morning Programs
During the 9:30 and 11:00 service.
LIGHT 456: 4th Grade- 6th Grade
Kids in the 4th, 5th and 6th Grade are provided with a separate program of their own. Kids have the opportunity to select a place to "serve" as they first enter the program. Places to serve include helping with the preschool program, assisting with the arrival areas for the Kindergarten through 3rd graders, practicing a monthly skit, or a variety of service projects. Following their time of serving, the kids learn the biblical message, then meet in small groups to discuss and apply the biblical truths. At the end of the lesson, kids participate in a music time consisting of current Contemporary Christian music.

The Garden: Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
We recognize and value that God has created children with the desire to have fun! Children also want to feel comfortable and accepted as well as participate in something that is enjoyable for them. As children enter the program, they are provided with a choice between Mountain Movers (movement activities) or Creation Station (hands-on activities). After the arrival time, the children go to the large group time where they sing songs and learn the Bible story in a creative way. Object lessons, video clips, music DVDs, skits, and storytelling are only a few of the many ways children are presented with the biblical message. After large group time the children go to age appropriate Gardening Groups. In Gardening Time, Gardeners (not teachers) meet with the children to help them feel welcome, cared for, and known. During Gardening Time children learn the verse of the month, and the Gardener assists the children in understanding and applying biblical truths.

Preschool: 2 years - 5 years
We recognize and value that God has created preschoolers with a strong desire to learn but a short attention span. Each lesson component is short and includes much creativity, movement and interaction! As children enter the preschool program, their parents will guide them to an arrival activity. Following the arrival activity, children will be provided with an organized game time, Gardening time (biblical story and application), craft/coloring time, review and prayer time, and song time. Children learn one nugget each Sunday and one verse each month using various learning methods.

Nursery: Birth - 24 months
We recognize and value that God has created infants and toddlers with a need to be loved and cared for. The Nursery offers quality care to infants and toddlers under the age of two.

Wednesday Night Programs
6:30pm-8pm Wednesdays
During the same time as our community groups, children ages two through sixth grade are provided with a program of their own. Wednesday night is more of a club approach with two through five year olds involved in the Tadpoles group, Kindergarteners through Third Graders involved in F.R.O.G. Club, and Fourth through Sixth Graders involved in LIGHT 456. Tadpoles review the lesson from Sunday. Children in F.R.O.G. Club and kids in LIGHT 456 dig deeper into God's Word, learn verses, books of the Bibles, build friendships and complete service projects.
