Hey there, my name’s Caleb! I’ve lived in Janesville all my life and practically grew up at Faith Community Church since the age of three, since my dad, Michael T. Powers, is the youth minister. I was always tagging along on every Sunday or Wednesday night or special trip for the youth ministry, even when I wasn’t old enough to be considered a proper “youth” yet, so the youth ministry at Faith has held a very special place in my heart for as long as I can remember. I became a student leader in 8th grade and have never looked back, helping lead as a student throughout high school and now as a young adult and college student.
Currently, as a youth leader, I lead worship for our Sunday night meetings and help lead the freshmen group on Wednesday nights with fellow youth leader Miki. I also work part-time as the head of Creative Programming at Faith Community, which means I head the drama ministry, help develop original skits, videos, and music, and also frequently help lead worship in the contemporary service on the weekends.
Right now I’m a college student attending UW-Whitewater pursuing a degree in Creative Writing, and hope to be a future full-time creative professional. I’m passionate about telling stories, writing and playing music, podcasting, and directing, producing, writing, filming, and acting in original short films and sketches. I love opening up a good book, listening to what other people are passionate about, and serving Christ alongside my brothers and sisters in Christ at Faith Community Church.
