Once you are registered for Camp…

We are so excited that your child will be joining us for this year’s summer camp!  To help you with those last minute questions and plans we are providing some additional information.  Please read through the information, you will find it VERY helpful.

PAYMENTS

Canteen money and horseback riding:  When you check your camper in on Sunday, July 28th, you can put money in your camper’s canteen fund.  You will also be able to sign up and pay for your camper’s horseback riding time should that be something your camper wants to do.  Remember, the cost for horseback riding is $10.00 for half an hour ride. We suggest that you place between $10.00 to $15.00 in the canteen fund and an additional $10.00 for each ride. Canteen money and horseback riding costs will be paid directly to Sky Lodge Christian Camp in the form of a check or cash when you check your camper in on the July 28th.  Any money remaining will be returned when you pick up your camper.

Paintball: Campers will be able to participate in paintball. Sky Lodge has the necessary equipment for campers.  The cost will be $12.50 which includes a safety mask, gun, and 100 paintballs. PLEASE send clothes that can be used for this activity if your camper will be selecting this activity.  You will need to place the $12.50 in your camper’s canteen fund to cover this cost as well as sign a form specific for this activity when you check your camper in on July 28th.  The campers will be split into an older group for paint ball and a younger group for paintball target shooting.

MARK ITEMS

Mark all items:  We are recommending that campers clothing, shoes, towels, cameras, and Bibles are marked with the camper’s name.  Each year we end up with bags of items that have been left behind and never claimed. Campers often have a difficult time remembering what was packed for them and are not always able to identify their items.  When there is a cabin full of campers, all about the same age, the items start looking alike.  PLEASE DO NOT send expensive items (such as clothing items, shoes, cameras) with your camper as we cannot guarantee that the items will return home.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS IN THE CABIN

Items in the cabin:  It is OK to send healthy snack items with your camper for the evening time.  We would ask that you NOT send caffeinated drinks with your camper.  Your camper MAY NOT have money or cell phones in the cabin.  Be sure to place all money in the canteen fund and take the cell phones with you.  Cell phones MAY NOT be used as the camper’s camera.

PICK UP TIME

Pick Up Time: REMEMBER to pick up your camper(s) on Saturday morning, August 3rd is 9:00am at SkyLodge Christian Camp.

CONTACT WHILE AT CAMP

Contact:  Remember, campers will not be permitted to call home nor will your calls be forwarded to the camp director or your camper.  In the case of an emergency you may call 608-297-2566 and the Sky Lodge Staff will contact Kristi Powers, camp director, immediately.  Remember, we want your camper to have a great experience even when there is some homesickness.  The best thing for homesickness is to keep your camper involved in the camp activities and enjoying the week of camp.  For that reason, we will not send campers home unless your child’s behavior requires us to contact you (refer to the health and counselor form section Policy Regarding Behavior).  Thank you for your understanding with this matter.  PLEASE send cards/letter to your camper – they really love hearing from you!!
